We are delighted that our wacky bike building has been recognised by Atomic Zombie (www.atomiczombie.com) who is a web based project in Canada for bike building. They have featured several of our bikes in their builders’ gallery but our latest creation, the “snake bike” has received a full page write up in their latest newsletter.

Crank it Up Cycling Opportunities for All (our parent project) are known for their unusual and wacky bikes but they now have most of the unusual/wacky bikes that are available. In order to build on the number and types of unusual/wacky bikes they have we now need people who can build unusual/wacky bikes. If you have imagination and can weld please contact us.

We have loads of ideas and plans for wacky bikes, so if you want to create wonderful bikes please get in touch with us.

Bradford University teams up with Cycle re Cycle

As Cycle re Cycle receives no regular or guaranteed income we needed to find a way to bring much needed regular income that would take the pressure off us having to keep applying for grants. Thanks to the support of the Bradford University and the Students union we will be opening a shop selling recycled bikes on the campus. As well as selling recycled bikes we will also be selling recycled bike parts as well as new parts and accessories.

We are located in the Communal Building please pop in for a coffee and a chat.

We are delighted that Kirklees Council, through their Environment Grant Scheme have supported our work by giving us a kick start grant.

This is superb news as it will allow us to buy the tools and equipment needed to open in Deighton.

We sincerely thank them for supporting our work and look forward to a long a mutually beneficial relationship. Thank you to all the Councillors and Kirklees staff who have helped us get to this point.

We must make a special mention of Allison Porter who has been of great help through the process and the hiccups we have experienced outside the Council.

We are delighted that our voluntary work has once again been recognised by O2 It’s your community. What makes this especially gratifying is that they normally only make projects one Award per year.

This will give us the funds to buy tools and to open a second workshop in Elland. Our plans were to open a second workshop within 12 months of our formation. They have also asked if some of their staff can volunteer with us.
